Local County or equivalent: In the United States, a county is a political and geographic subdivision of a state. The term "county" is used in 48 of the 50 U.S. states. Louisiana calls them parishes, and Alaska calls them boroughs. Your County is where documents such as property deeds are recorded. The Sheriff works for your local county (for example Robin Hood was pursued by the Sheriff of Nottingham County) (Do NOT put US or United States!)
